Singles Go Wild on Clare Island

If you are single, outdoorsy and looking for an alternative to Lisdoonvarna, the singles adventure weekend on Clare Island might be just the ticket for you. Happening on the last weekend in September, you could actually call it the antithesis to a match-making festival. Because even though it is for the unattached, there will be no cringe-inducing match-making involved. Just a gathering of like-minded people having the craic and making new friends (and possibly more ).

Speed-dating has been abandoned in favour of high (and medium ) adrenalin-inducing outdoors adventure.

The brave souls will be put through a programme of activities that necessitate interaction and co-operation. Already tried and tested in late June, it is a proven recipe for connection and craic. Ensuing relationships are a bonus. The weekend is primarily about getting out there and meeting new people.

Saturday will be filled with a beach challenge (including raft building ) and a choice between coasteering (for the water babies ), climbing and abseiling (for those with a head for heights ), or hiking the stunning island.

The evenings will be chock-a-block with delicious meals, music, banter, and other craic in the Sailor’s Bar, including a live band as part of the Guinness Amplify sessions on Saturday night.

Singles of all levels of experience (including none ) are welcome. There are some basic requirements (such as being comfortable swimming in the sea if you opt for coasteering ), but the instructors will ensure a fun and safe day out for all, even complete beginners. As long as you have a can-do spirit, you will be grand.
