More than 5,000 votes cast for Best of Mayo awards

Shortlist of 2014 finalists announced

More than 5,000 votes have been cast in the Mayo Advertiser’s search to find the Best of Mayo 2014 and the results are in.

The business awards, which are now in their third year, recognise and celebrate Mayo’s exceptional businesses, and are open to businesses of all sizes, across all sectors.

This year the number of votes cast increased by almost 25 per cent.

Penny Masterson, general manager of the Advertiser Group, said the awards are clearly going from strength to strength and continue to capture the imagination of not only the Mayo business community but their customers and clients.

“Thousands of members of the public have voted for the businesses they see in their community who are going that extra mile to deliver an exceptional level of service to their customers,” said Ms Masterson.

“The awards are a fantastic opportunity for the businesses taking part to increase their profile as they strive to be the very best for their customers, and also to get recognition for that.”

The shortlist for the 2014 awards has now been announced and the overall winners will be revealed at a lunchtime awards ceremony on Tuesday September 23.

The Best of Mayo awards were launched by the Mayo Advertiser in 2012 to showcase the businesses in the county which work and strive to excel in what they do in terms of goods, quality, customer service, and value for money.

Since the awards were launched, more than 15,000 people in Mayo have voted for the local businesses which they feel are the very Best of Mayo.
