Top trad artists for Castlebar performance

There is a great night of traditional music on the cards when Vallely brothers Niall, Cillian, and Caoimhín, and fellow musician Ross Martin, perform at the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Thursday September 18 at 8pm.

Niall, Cillian, and Caoimhín Vallely are members of a renowned traditional music dynasty from Armagh.

They learned their music at the Armagh Pipers Club from their parents Brian and Eithne, and have gone on to forge professional music careers that have brought them all over the world.

As well as being driving forces behind the groups Lúnasa, Buille, Nomos, and North Cregg, they have performed and recorded individually with artists of the calibre of Béla Fleck, Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, Tim O'Brien, Riverdance, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Natalie Merchant, Paddy Keenan, Martin Hayes, and Dónal Lunny.

Cillian Vallely also features on the most recent Bruce Springsteen album High Hopes.

They will be touring together for the first time this September with legendary Scottish guitarist Ross Martin.
