Ideas Week session to focus on perfecting your business pitch

Castlebar Chamber and Network Mayo, together with Mayo Local Enterprise Office (LEO ), are hosting an event as part of Mayo Ideas Week for people who would like to perfect their business pitch.

Orlaith Carmody, managing director of Mediatraining.ie, a consultancy specialising in communications, training and leadership, will lead the workshop session called Pitching for Business.

The workshop takes place at Breaffy House Resort on Tuesday, September 16, at 6.30pm.

Businesses increasingly have to work harder to attract new customers and to hold on to existing ones.

More and more often, that involves pitching their business to prospective clients and competing with many other companies who are trying to do the exact same thing.

Ms Carmody’s session will how to make a pitch that is really effective and memorable, and help win them the business.

She will reveal what makes a good pitch and how to make the presentation really flow.

She will also show businesspeople how to develop a confidence and professionalism that will give their company the edge to succeed.

The session is a taste of Ms Carmody’s open day Pitching for Business training course, and customised, bespoke training for client companies.

Ms Carmody is an in demand keynote speaker, conference chair and seminar leader. She has addressed some of Ireland’s most influential business people, networks and political groups on the subjects of professional development and corporate leadership.

She has also presented at conferences in Europe, the USA and Canada.

She is an active media and business commentator, and contributes regularly to a variety of radio and TV programs and publications on subjects such as doing business today, women’s participation at board level and in public life, entrepreneurship, education and parenting.

Pitching for Business takes place in Breaffy House Resort on Tuesday, September 16, at 6.30pm.
