In the middle of last month members and friends of Muintir Mhaigh Eo Atha Cliath gathered for their annual summer social event in the exclusive surrounds of House on Leeson Street. The Dublin based Mayo Diaspora enjoyed an evening of socialising and entertainment in its stunning Glass Room which was especially reserved for this event.
Courtesy of the Mayo Association Dublin, complimentary drinks were provided to those gathered between 7pm and 8pm as was a superb and diverse range of barbecued food. The Gourmet Food Parlour, under the watchful eye of owners Lorraine Heskin and Lorraine Byrne (both of whose parents hail from Mayo ), provided the catering for the evening. A cabaret band and House DJ provided the musical backdrop which set the atmosphere in House Dublin as up to 400 of Mayo's Diaspora chatted and socialised in The Glass Room and open air conservatory until late.
Keeping with the Mayo theme of the night Mayo Association Dublin proudly displayed the Nestor Cup and many of those present posed for a photograph holding the cup in anticipation of further county football successes. A special guest appearance by Michael Flatley late in the evening added to the excitement of the occasion. Michael generously gave of his time to the crowd gathered and numerous photographs were snapped of Michael together with the Nestor Cup and with many of the attendees. The Mayo Association Dublin were delighted to see many of the new faces present sign up for membership of the association.
