Swinford author Martin Dyar has been shortlisted for a second prestigious literary award.
Mr Dyar has won much acclaim this year for his debut poetry collection Maiden Names.
The book was shortlisted this week for a Shine/Strong Award and was also shortlisted earlier this year for the inaugural Pigott Poetry Prize by UK Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy.
Colm Tóibín has described the book as a “masterpiece” and it was also the only poetry collection selected as a Book of the Year by the Irish Times.
