Paddy Casey set for Mayo return with Garbo’s gig

Paddy Casey is to make a welcome return to Mayo this September - this time swapping the expansive surrounds of the Westport Festival of Music and Food for an intimate gig in Garbo’s, Castlebar.

The Dublin singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has been a staple on the Irish music scene since his debut album, Amen (So Be It ), was released in 1999.

One of the biggest hits on the album ‘Sweet Suburban Sky’ went on to feature on the soundtrack of the hugely popular US teen drama Dawson’s Creek and the Paddy Casey fan following has continued to grow ever since.

Casey followed up his Amen triumph with a bang in 2003, when he released the multi-platinum album Living, which enjoyed major chart success with hits such as ‘Saints and Sinners’, ‘The Lucky One’ and ‘Want It Can’t Have It’.

Casey has performed nationally and internationally and has also supported some of the biggest bands in the world, including REM and U2.

The Castlebar performance takes place on Saturday September 27.

Tickets cost €12 and are on sale now from Downtown Records and Hogs Heaven in Castlebar.

Tickets on the door on the night cost €15.
