The sartorial appearance of the members of the Castlebar Municipal District came up for discussion at their July meeting this week. Cllr Frank Durcan said he wanted to see the chairperson of the district wear a coat and tie while representing the area (if he is a man ). Cllr Therese Ruane and Lisa Chambers joked across the chamber that would apply to them too. Cllr Chambers quipped that it would be fine “as long as no-one comes in dressed like they’ve been dragged through a bush backwards”.
