A man is to appear today before Swinford District Court in relation to an alleged public order offence involving a weapon in Swinford last weekend.
Gardaí at Swinford station are appealing for witnesses to the alleged incident in the early hours of last Saturday morning.
The man was arrested in the Main Street area and taken to the local Garda station, where he was charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
He was released on station bail to appear before Swinford District Court today.
