Irish rugby player Rory Best kicked off in style a new fundraising event to be held on Achill next month in support of the charity Bóthar.
The Achill Trek takes place from August 14 to 16 and will raise funds to build a creamery in Rwanda to support farmers to earn an income.
The three-day event offers a range of specially tailored walks for beginners as well as treks for the more experienced and adventurous hill climbers.
Walkers will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside, including the breathtaking Keem Bay.
Organisers are hoping to raise in the region of €25,000 from the event.
