A night of 90s rock nostalgia is in store tomorrow, July 12, with a Grunge Unplugged gig in Garbo’s, Castlebar.
A seven-piece band of local musicians will pay tribute to some of the most influential rock acts of the 1990s, including Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, and The Pixies.
Based on the classic MTV Unplugged series of gigs, this show promises to be both intimate and raucous.
There will also be a battle of the DJs, as Finbar Hoban and Mark Conway dust down some of their early 90s gems.
The aim of the gig is to raise funds for Mayo-based charity Airc, which provides support for the families of children with disabilities.
Tickets cost €10 and are on sale in Downtown Records and Hogs Heaven Bar.
Doors are open at 9 pm, with a happy hour from 9pm to 10pm while the DJs warm the crowd up before the main act.
Three hours of live music is in store, making this a night not to be missed, in aid of a great cause.
