Mayo people are paying €58 million in tax on booze each year, according to a new drinks industry report.
Drinks Industry Ireland revealed the average person in Mayo pays €733 a year in tax on their alcohal.
According to the group, this is more than double what consumers are paying in Germany.
They are calling for the Government to rethink tax levels to support the industry, which employs 92,000 people in Ireland.
