Would you like to enjoy an Alpine challenge, which will undoubtedly be a trip of a lifetime, while raising money for a local charity?
Join a group of volunteers and guides on an Alpine challenge between Friday August 28 and Friday September 4 2009. You will fly into Geneva and transfer to Samoens Village where hotel accommodation will be provided.
Accommodation in the mountains is dormitory style and is provided for two nights. The mountain trek will take place over three days with a transfer from Chamanoix back to Samoens and back to the airport for your return home. Participants will need to be fit as the walk will entail, on day one, an eight kilometre flat walk and climb of 1,000 metres. On day two enjoy a 1,200 metres climb and descent to 1,000 metres. Day three is all down hill or flat. There will be one guide for every 10 people.
To participate in this very worthwhile cause you will need to raise a minimum of €2,000 per person, which will cover flights and accommodation. You will need to book your place as places are limited. To secure your place you must lodge a deposit of €200 with Mayo Cancer Support before January 31 2009. This is refundable against sponsorship collected.
