Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT ) will hold information sessions at three of its campuses this month (January ), for Leaving Certificate pupils and mature people considering attending college in 2009.
An open information session takes place in GMIT Castlebar on Wednesday evening January 14, from 7pm to 9pm, a second one takes place in GMIT’s Dublin Road campus, Galway City, on Saturday January 17 from 10am to 1pm and in GMIT’s Letterfrack campus, Connemara, on Friday January 23 from 1pm to 3pm.
GMIT offers a broad range of programmes from higher certificate to ordinary and honours degrees in business, engineering, science and ICT, humanities and the creative arts, nursing and health sciences, hotel and catering, furniture design and technology education, and outdoor education.
College staff will be available to discuss course choices and answer queries about completing the CAO application and the fees, grants and financial supports available.

GMIT registrar Mr Bernard O’Hara says the information session is a great opportunity for prospective students to discuss programme choices and other matters with college staff, especially for those who are not progressing directly from second level.
