Roisin Tansy fund to take on Tochar challenge

The Tochar Pháidraig walk from Ballintubber Abbey to Croagh Patrick will take place on Sunday week, June 28. Fundraisers for the Roisin Tansey Fund will be doing the walk to raise money for the fund. They have asked that anyone who would like to join them on the walk or to sponsor them to contact James Keane on 087 9622946 or email [email protected] or donate online at www.roisintanseyfund.com

In January 2013 Roisin Tansey stumbled on the couch and lost the power in her hands, she was brought to Mayo General and then to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for an MRI. The doctors discovered a chiari malformation in her brain, this combined with the tumble caused her spinal cord to swell. As a result she is now paralysed from the neck down and confined to a wheelchair. Roisin spent 11 months in Temple Street Children's Hospital and the National Rehabilitation Hospital. Roisin is home in Killasser, Swinford, since December. All funds raised are going to help Roisin to build an extension and adapt her house to her needs, and to pay for her ongoing physio treatment.
