The Clare Island 10k 2014 has raised an impressive €26,000 for Cancer Care West.
The island event is the brainchild of former Clare Island development manager, Donal O’Shea. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2011 and used the Cancer Care West’s services during his treatment and recovery.
Sharon Fitzpatrick, fundraising manager with Cancer Care West, attributed much of the huge success to the warm island welcome and hospitality shown to participants on the day and praised the organising committee and Clare Island residents for their months of careful prepartaion and support for the event.
