Eurospar Belmullet was awarded the ultimate accolade, scooping a Top Of The Tree award at the recent Five Star Awards ceremony.
The Mayo supermarket beat stiff competition to win the sought-after honour, taking the prize in the Off Licence category, one of just five stores in the country to do so. The Top Of The Tree Awards are only awarded to the very best Five Star award winners, singling out their outstanding departments for special recognition. Held in association with the Excellence Ireland Quality Association, the Five Star Awards are given to Eurospar stores that pass a gruelling year-long inspection, including unannounced audits and visits from mystery shoppers.
The most deserving stores within each category are then singled out to receive a Top Of The Tree Award.
Retailers Enda Brogan and Annette Howard said they were thrilled to learn their store was to be honoured as one of the best in the country. Mr Brogan said: “I’m delighted to receive a Top Of The Tree Award. As a retailer, this is the greatest recognition you can receive. At Eurospar Belmullet we always strive to make our off licence department the very best it can be, and to be honoured as one of the best in the country makes all our hard work worthwhile.”
Ms Howard said: “I’d like to thank all my team at Eurospar Belmullet and of course our loyal customers, without whom none of this would have been possible.”
Speaking at the ceremony Leo Crawford, group chief executive of BWG Group, said: “Eurospar retailers are among the best in Ireland, and I am proud to honour them here.
