Chris Jennings was the winner of the men’s competition last weekend with a score of 44pts. Bert Eagleton finished in second place and Matt Leonard came home in third place. The ladies’ competition was won by Breda Cleary with a score of 42pts. She finished just one point in front of Patricia Larkin in second place and Mary Conlon finished in third place.

Last weekend’s competition, which was sponsored by Eddie Murphy Menswear, was won by Tom Prenty who scored 68nett, Bill Maxwell finished in second and John Burke was the gross winner. The ladies’ competition win was claimed by Anne Freeley who scored 73nett, she finished just in front of Mary F Cleary. The junior competition was won by Jason Meehan who finished his round with a score of 75nett.

The gents’ competition last weekend was won by Conor Creaven who scored 63nett, second place went to Jarlath King who scored 69nett. The gross prize was won by Ray D’Arcy who scored 77gross with Martin Summerville winning the category prize. The front nine competition was claimed by JJ Gannon, with Brian Fallon recording the best score over the back nine. The ladies’ 18 hole stroke competition sponsored by The Gift Corner was won by Sinead Humphrey, Catherine Burke finished in second and Catherine O’Toole was the gross prize winner. The front nine winner was Anne Galvin and Triona Kelly was the best around the back nine.

Eoin Lisibach was the winner of the scratch cup competition with a score of 73, Ken Irwin finished in second place on a score of 74 and Brian Timlin was the nett winner. The junior scratch cup was won by Ross Kelly who scored 77, Ronan Mahon finished in second place and Paddy Burke was the nett winner. The intermediate scratch cup was won by Ryan Timlin who scored 82, Eddie Killeen finished in second place and Martin Moylan was the nett winner.
Claremorris
James Prendergast was the winner of the gents’ competition with a score of 68nett, John O’Connor finished in second place and Paul Keena came home in third place. The category competition was won by Bert Sexton. The ladies’ 18 hole competition was claimed by Hannah Grant who finished with a score of 74nett. Peggy Tawse finished in second place. The ladies’ front nine winner was Riana Kean and Yvonne Oldham had the best score on the back nine.

Mulranny
Fergus Rothwell and JJ Kelly will represent Mulranny in the Mayo finals of the Holmpatrick Cup in Ballina on July 4, following their narrow win in the Keane’s Butchers, Newport sponsored fourball last weekend. They finished on 44pts the same score as recorded by Padraic McVann and Patsy Noone but a superior back nine gave them the spoils.
Next weekend’s stableford competition is sponsored by Gavin’s Coffee Shop, Westport. The Green and Red Society have their open day Saturday and a time sheet will operate. Last weekend’s ladies’ Australian spoons foursome competition was won by Patricia Feeney and Eileen Clasby who scored 41pts; Julie Loftus and Catherine Loftus finished in second place with a score of 39pts.
Westport
The Donnie O’Connor memorial Golfer of the Year competition was won by Martin Halpin with a score of 67nett. David Joyce finished in second place and John Duffy came home in third place. The category one competition win went home with Jack O’Donnell, Padraig McLoughlin took the category two competition, Padraic Corcoran was the category three winner and Des Kelly won the category four section.
