Walking course to manage arthritis pain

The Mayo branch of Arthritis Ireland is running a six-week ‘Let’s Get Walking’ course for people living with arthritis and fibromyalgia.

According to the group, walking is not only a great way to exercise but is proven to be one of the best ways to manage arthritis pain.

Arthritis, an inflammation of the joints that causes pain and immobility, affects some 915,000 people in Ireland, making it the single biggest cause of disability.

The new walking courses start in Castlebar on Tuesday June 3 at 7.15pm in Castlebar Tennis Club.

The course is also starting in Ballina on June 4 at 7pm from the Ballina Arts Centre.

To book a place on the Castlebar course, telephone Sheila on (086 ) 3429805 or email [email protected].

For the Ballina course, telephone Taragh on (087 ) 6471919 or email [email protected].
