Skoda Yeti Xtreme concept makes world premiere

The world premiere of the Skoda Yeti Xtreme took place recently - the manufacturer’s demonstration of a crisp and robust interpretation of the popular compact SUV.

The Skoda Yeti was completely redesigned in 2013 and is now available in two versions - the Yeti for urban dwellers and the adventurous Yeti Outdoor.

The Yeti Xtreme premiere intends to portray a solid and sporty concept rally car based on the popular compact SUV. Skoda says it is with these expressive vehicles that the brand repeatedly underlines the emotional qualities and versatility of its attractive model range.

The Skoda designers provided the Yeti with a striking rally-design trim for this year’s Wörthersee event in Austria last week. The striking matt-grey vehicle with Skoda yellow/green accents stood on powerful 17-inch alloy wheels and large off-road tyres.

The front of the vehicle featured a powerful bumper and a large air intake. The Yeti Xtreme flexed its muscles with athletically shaped wings and mighty door sills.

At the rear, the striking rear bumper and two wide exhaust pipes without silencers bore witness to the power and dynamics of the vehicle, both on a visual and an acoustic level.

The interior featured exclusive rally fittings, including four individual Recaro sports seats with integrated four-point harnesses, sports steering wheel with integrated gear-shift paddles. The inside door panels were made from carbon-fibre, the floor panels were aluminium. In the completely newly designed centre console you found a belt cutter and a fire extinguisher, the dashboard featured an iPad cradle.

“We want to continue the positive development and to grow further with new models over the coming years,” says Werner Eichhorn, Skoda board member for sales and marketing. “Therefore we are going to strengthen the emotional vibrancy of the brand. The Yeti Xtreme – as a dynamic and powerful compact SUV concept - demonstrates the brand’s strong expertise in four-wheel drive technology, as well as our know-how when it comes to rally sports.”
