This month enjoy a collection of works from the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ballycastle or a movie from one of Andrei Tarkovsky’s acclaimed works at the Ballina Arts Centre.
The exhibition, entitled Beacon, comprises a range of works from a number of leading Irish and international artists including Sean McSweeney, Nick Miller, Martin Gale, Mick O’Dea, Charlie Tyrell, and Nuala Clarke.
Admission is free and all are welcome to attend. The exhibition runs until the end of the month.
The Sacrifice will be shown on January 13 at 8pm in the arts centre. This film, the last that Tarkovsky made before his death, follows an ageing atheist actor/psychologist/writer, along with his actress wife, teenage daughter, and young son, as they experience the opening throes of the end of the world by a nuclear holocaust.
