Charity regulator role for Cynthia Clampett

Mayo Roscommon Hospice CEO, Cynthia Clampett, is one of 16 appointments on the board of the Charities Regulatory Authority, which is being set up later this year.

The Charities Regulatory Authority will be an independent regulator for Irish charities. It will have powers under the Charities Act to introduce robust measures to improve the accountability and transparency of the charity sector.

The authority is being established in response to recent revelations in some large national charities about salaries and top-ups.
