Five Mace stores in Mayo pick up excellence awards

Retailers from all over Ireland gathered at the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone, for the prestigious awards ceremony run by BWG Foods, owner and operator of the Mace brand in Ireland. The Mace Excellence Awards are only given to Mace stores that pass a gruelling year-long inspection, including unannounced audits and visits from mystery shoppers. Five Mayo stores were given Mace Excellence Awards. The Mace Excellence Awards are now in their 11th year. The Mayo winners presented at this year’s awards ceremony were Mannion’s Mace Charlestown, Delaney’s Mace Castlebar, Delaney’s Maxol Mace Westport, Fallon’s Mace Ballinrobe, and Hunt’s Mace Claremorris.

Congratulating the award winners, Willie O’Byrne, managing director, BWG Foods, said: “Mace retailers strive for excellence in every aspect of their service to their shoppers and the local communities in which they are embedded. In meeting the exacting standards of the Mace Excellence Programme, Mace retailers and their staff consistently improve customer service in their stores. Achieving the Mace Excellence Award is further recognition of the high level of standards and service in Mace stores. I am proud to honour and congratulate Joe Mannion, Padraic Delaney, Dermot Fallon and Paul Hunt, Mace retailers from Mayo on their success in this year’s Mace Excellence Awards.”
