Parents of the almost 5,000 third level students in Mayo could be missing out on up to €900 in tax relief.
Senior tax consultant with Taxback.com, Christine Keily, said it is “so surprising” that a high number of parents are not aware that tax relief is available for third level fees.
“With college fees as high as they are now and many students pursuing postgraduate qualifications, families could save up to €900 a year if they review their entitlement to tax relief,” said Ms Keily.
