Legal eagle Anne shortlisted for Irish Law Award

Foxford woman Anne Walsh, who works at P O’Connor & Son solicitors in Swinford, has been shortlisted for an Irish Law Award.

Ms Walsh is a finalist in the Irish Legal Executive of the Year category in recognition of her service and outstanding contribution to legal work over 20 years.

Ms Walsh joined P O’Connor & Son as a shorthand typist in the early 1960s. She left her position to rear her four children but re-joined the firm in 1989.

She has worked as a legal executive with the litigation team since 1992 and has become an extremely valuable asset. Ms Walsh’s daughter, Maura Kennedy, also works in the firm.

Patrick O’Connor, managing partner, said that Ms Walsh knows the intricacies of litigation better than many lawyers.

“Anne is a magnificent legal executive and a kind, caring, considerate and wonderful person,” he added.

Anne has worked with many highly regarded litigation solicitors through the years. She worked with the late Val O’Connor, Patrick O’Connor, Michael Bohan, Brendan Donnelly, Marcella Kilbane, Mary H. Morris and others.

She currently works with William O’Connor, Paul Cunney, Samantha Geraghty and Patrick O’Connor in the firm’s dispute resolution section.

All in P O’Connor & Son wish Anne the best of luck at the Irish Law Awards.
