The Mayo Chapter of BNI (Business Networking International ) Castlebar is this week celebrating the 12th anniversary of its successful networking group.
The networking group, which is made up of local professionals from a variety of backgrounds, including an accountant, mechanic, and optician, has managed to pass more than €2.5 million worth of business among its members in the last five years alone.
Members of the Mayo chapter, which meets every Friday at 7am in The Harlequin Hotel, Castlebar, help each other to develop and promote their businesses. All members of the Mayo chapter act as a sales force for each other by passing on new business and giving referrals.
BNI is a professional business organisation established 29 years ago globally. The members of the chapter benefit from its unique referral system, which is similar to having dozens of sales people working as part of your team, whose role is to refer contacts and business within the group.
Speaking of the group’s achievement Kevin Martin, chapter director, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating 12 extremely successful years of networking as the Mayo BNI Chapter.
“Being a member of the Mayo chapter makes you realise that there is no end to the yield word-of-mouth networking can offer when you decide to make it work for you. All of us have grown in this chapter together and we all take delight in each other’s success, which is what BNI is all about. It is fantastic to come here to network and meet with people who have become great friends and celebrate in each other’s achievements.”
The Mayo chapter welcomes all business people to attend a meeting as a guest. For more information visit www.bni.ie or call Kevin Martin on 087 2771509.
