Taoiseach launches trafficattic.com

An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny launched a brand new Mayo based shopping website Trafficattic.com this week in the Castlebar Chamber of Commerce. Trafficattic.com is an online shopping community for local businesses across Ireland to sell and promote their products, at home and abroad. Trafficattic.com provides the consumer with a one-stop shop to purchase a wide variety of products from categories such as beauty products, clothing, DIY, wedding stationery, homewares and much, much more from local business in Ireland direct to their door.

For the retailer, getting set up on Trafficattic.com is completely ‘Free’ and they will have their own admin area to manage their products, orders and content. Trafficattic.com gives local businesses the chance to join the global marketplace and become part of a worldwide shopping movement, with a few clicks of a mouse. Trafficattic.com is the brainchild of Mayo based husband and wife team, Brendan and Sophia McHugh who have been working on Trafficattic.com for the past number of years.

Sophia who comes from Breaffy in Castlebar has been working in web and graphic design for the past decade, while her husband Brendan who hails from Foxford worked in the construction industry. Speaking about where they came up with the idea Sophia said, “With the collapse of the construction sector Brendan was looking for alternative work opportunities so we explored the possibility of setting up our own business. As my own skills are in Web design we decided to develop the TrafficAttic concept. This website we created has been in development for three years, and in those three years we have tailored it down to a model that will suit local businesses in Ireland and will be simple to use for both retailer and consumer alike. In the past we have both purchased from online retailers and found that there was very little scope for local businesses in Ireland to sell their products to this massive marketplace. With the recession over the last few years, we saw a gap for a website like this! While providing consumers like myself with a wide variety of online products from locally run Irish businesses’, we in turn will be giving the retailers a chance to make extra sales!” Trafficattic.com will bring the local Main Street to the global shop front. Log on to www.trafficattic.com and see for yourself.
