Parke group stage laugh-out-loud comedy Drinking Habits

Parke Drama Group are bringing their production of the outragous comedy Drinking Habits to the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, next Wednesday and Thursday (April 23 and 24 ) evening at 8 pm.

The group is staging its annual production in Castlebar while renovations are ongoing in Parke Community Centre.

The laugh-out-loud farce is directed by Michael Rice and cast members include Pauline Barrett, Seamus Beirne, Fiona Campbell, Emily Connor, Karen Conway, John Daly, Maria Jordan and Richard Wynne.

The play enjoyed its premier at the Luton Irish Forum Festival over St. Patrick’s Weekend.

Drinking Habits follows the fortunes of two nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Sewing Convent, who have been secretly making wine to keep the convent doors open. However, Paul and Sally, reporters and former fiancées, are hot on the sisters’ trail.

They go undercover as a nun and a priest, sparking paranoia in the convent that spies have been sent from Rome to shut them down.

Wine and secrets are inevitably spilled as everyone tries to preserve the convent and some try to reconnect with lost loves.

Advanced booking is advised due to interest in the production and limited tickets available on the door on the night.
