(1 ) Why are you running?
Because I believe I can make a difference for the people in the Castlebar area. People are sick and tired of the same faces making the decisions for the town. It’s time to get rid of the "hand shakers".
(2 ) What is the big issue in your area?
Lack of jobs.
(3 ) Describe yourself in three words?
Calm, honest, and persistent.
(4 ) What person do you admire the most?
Richard Branson.
(5 ) Can local councillors make a difference?
Councillors make very important decisions for their areas, some good and some not so good. It’s very important that the candidate that can do the job is elected in May.
(6 ) If you could only get one project done in your area in the next few years, what is it?
We need more jobs. Businesses are struggling to survive. We need to support our SMEs. If that means reducing rates or competitive rates for car parking or free parking at certain times. Then this needs to be done. One of my objectives if elected is to expand on tourism in the town and get more footfall on our streets.
(7 ) What do you enjoy the most about politics?
The debates.
(8 ) What might people not know about you?
I’m a big fan of Meat Loaf (Marvin Lee Aday ).
(9 ) What are you expecting to hear on the doorsteps?
A lot of concern about jobs and local health services.
(10 ) Will Mayo ever win the All Ireland?
Yeah of course.
