Fine Gael councillor Cyril Burke this week said that he was expecting good news for the residents of Breaffy in the near future, with the announcement of a sewerage scheme to the village very shortly.
He said: “I’m confident that there will be progress announced on it in the very near future. It’s something I’ve been pushing for years, especially since during the term that I was Cathaoirleach. The population in the area is very large and with the two hotels out there it’s something they’ve been looking for and should have had for years. I’ve spoken with the minister and Irish Water and have put pressure on them to have Breaffy in the 2014 to 2015 capital water scheme.”
