Friends of Leigue, the voluntary group which maintains the historic Ballina Leigue cemetery, got a funding boost of €5,000 from Ballina Town Council this week.
At its monthly meeting, members of the town council approved the funding and praised the group for their untiring work at the cemetery.
Councillor Mark Winters said the Friends of Leigue invested countless hours into keeping the cemetery in its current pristine state and he described it as a real “labour of love”.
