Fianna Fáil Senator Thomas Byrne has announced he will seek the Fianna Fáil party nomination to run in the upcoming European elections in the constituency of Ireland Midlands North West.
The 36-year-old father of three is a member of his party's finance team, where he has spearheaded efforts to develop solutions for people struggling with personal debt.
Senator Byrne said he was hugely encouraged by the level of support offered to him across the country and discussed it fully with his wife and political supporters.
“I have decided that the time is right to take this step and seek to represent this part of the country in Europe,” he said.
