Castlebar Celtic pair Aileen Gilroy and Emma Hansberry are currently on international duty with Sue Ronan’s Ireland women’s squad in Cyprus. The pair are part of a 23 strong team for the tournament that saw them play Cyprus on Wednesday, before they take on South Korea today (Friday ), and Switzerland on Monday, with a positional play-off taking place next Wednesday, March 12.
Mayo League travel to Galway in EA Sports Cup
The Mayo League team will visit Eamonn Deacy Park in Galway on Tuesday night when they take on Galway in the first round of the EA Sports Cup. The representative outfit will be managed by Westport United duo James Fahy and Kieran Mulchrone who took over the side this year from Michael Hutton who had managed the team for the past few seasons.
Masters get back on the field
The ever popular Mayo League Westaro Masters competition kicks off next Wednesday in Milebush Park. The competition will run for 10 rounds on Wednesday nights until May 14. The Oliver Kelleher Cup will be run over four weeks once the league wraps up.
