Have you ever fancied sitting into a rally car and experiencing what rally drivers do? If so, the WRC Ford Focus rally car simulator, which will be in Ballina’s Market Square on Saturday March 8 at 4pm, is an event not to be missed.
The countdown is definitely on for the Mayo Stages Rally in Ballina this March, and with only a matter of days to go this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, with abundant entertainment for the whole family. Auto testing is one of the oldest disciplines in Irish motorsport and this year’s rally weekend brings this competition to Ballina. For an exceptional evening’s entertainment, come to the Market Square for 6.30pm on Saturday March 8 and see drivers put their adapted minis and other cars through the course.
Are you a local rally driver or do you know someone who has not entered the Hotel Ballina - Kennedy Motors Mayo Stages Rally yet? Well, you may still be in with a chance to enter. Even though priority entries closed on Friday last, you can still check out www.mayomotorsportclub.com to send in a late entry. A surge of entries to the competition at the last minute by national and international rally drivers conveys the importance of the first round of the Dunlop National Rally Championship 2014 and the first round of the Sligo Pallets Border Championship to these drivers.
The service area will be based at the Ballina Mart on Sunday March 9 and will be open to the public from 10am to 6pm, affording a prime opportunity to see the rally cars and drivers up close and personal, especially if you cannot get out to the stages. Rally merchandise and refreshments will be available all day.
