Bangor Erris man named aide-de-camp

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny has announced the appointment of Bangor Erris native Commandant Kieran Carey as his aide-de-camp.

Now living in Longford, Comdt Carey has been a member of the Defence Forces since 1986 and a commandant since 2009.

He has served on a number of overseas missions, including in Liberia and the Lebanon.

“Comdt Carey has enjoyed a distinguished military career to date and I know that he will undertake his new duties in my Department with the same sense of professionalism and integrity,” said Mr. Kenny.
