Castlebar woman Mary Lydon is the new president of the Mayo Society of New York.
Ms Lydon, daughter of Martin and Theresa Lydon, Fortfield, works in the capital markets division of General Electric.
She attended St Angela’s National School and St Joseph’s Secondary School and went on to receive a Bachelor degree in commerce at NUI Galway.
Ms. Lydon said she is looking forward to her new presidential role and to continuing the great work of the society.
