Achill man and well-known singer James Kilbane, with special guests the Tiernan family from Castlebar, are presenting a night of international folk and Irish music at the Castlecourt Hotel on Monday at 8.30pm.
This night of song and music promises to be a special and intimate performance of some of the finest Irish and international folk songs as well as rousing traditional music and sean nós dancing at the opening of the St Patrick’s season at the Castlecourt Hotel.
James Kilbane became a household name in Ireland when he reached the final of the hit television show You’re a Star in 2004. Since then, he has gone on to become a very successful singer with 10 albums now under his belt.
Joining Kilbane will be the Tiernan family from Castlebar. Katie, Katherine, Marianna, and Seamus make up a family of vast vocal and musical talent.
Katherine, Marianna, and Seamus hold four All Ireland titles, as well as a list of provincial titles, for their music in fleadh cheoil and other competitions.
In recent times members of the Tiernans have been invited to perform at several high profile events, including around the EU Presidency.
Katie Tiernan from Achill is mother to the three siblings and is herself a gifted singer.
This evening promises to be warm night of song, stories, dance, and music. Doors open at 8 pm.
