A new monthly session for singer-songwriters is starting in Matt Molloy’s, Westport, from February 25.
The Acoustic Yard is a showcase event and the first session is focusing on some of Mayo’s most talented songwriters.
The special guest on the night is Sinead Madden, a Claremorris native who released a critically acclaimed solo album Honey Promises in 2010.
She has worked with Maire Brennan, penning two songs on her latest album Signature and has toured, playing fiddle and singing with Clannad.
Sinead is currently working with rock legends Def Leppard and recently recorded with Joe Elliott on the newest offering from The Down and Outz. She has shared the stage with some of Ireland’s finest exports such as Brian Kennedy, Glen Hansard and Mundy.
Tony Reidy from Aughagower and Brian Duffy, a native of Westport, will also be there on the night.
The Acoustic Yard will also offer new artists a platform on which to showcase their music and Peter Lawlor from Castlebar will complete the bill. Peter is the principal songwriter with Hail from Russia, who release their new EP in March 2014.
The Acoustic Yard is hosted by David Dee Moore.
