A team of six students from St. Gerald’s Secondary School in Castlebar were crowned Ireland's lego champions in Galway at the weekend.
As winners of the eighth annual SAP FIRST LEGO League challenge, they will now represent Ireland at the European finals of the competition in Spain in May.
The theme for this year's global competition is 'Nature's Fury' and, according to organisers, many projects from Irish students have been inspired by the recent impact of stormy weather in local communities.
