Mayo schools invited to take part in ISPCC apprentice youth award

The ISPCC are inviting secondary schools in Mayo to take part in their Shield Youth Award. Transition Year students will take part in an Apprentice style competition, with the top three schools in the country being invited to present their project in a boardroom at the heart of Dublin’s financial district to Celebrity Apprentice judge Caroline Downey and two other celebrity judges.

The project brief is to plan and execute a fundraising event, product or campaign to support both their school and the ISPCC Shield Anti-Bullying Campaign. Students will be marked on their creativity, marketing and innovation skills. The winning team will be expected to effectively communicate the anti-bullying message and raise awareness of the devastating effect of bullying on children.

The winners will receive a specially commissioned crystal Shield Award for their school and will be featured in national print, TV and social media press releases. The closing date for registration is Monday, March 3 at 5pm. Registration forms are available from [email protected] or by calling Susie on 01 2342071.
