The passing of the late Thomas Durcan, Altmount Street and late of Rossbeg in Westport, was marked at Tuesday’s sitting of Castlebar District Court. Durcan, who was a well known solicitor, practising first in Westport in his father’s firm before setting up his own practice in Castlebar, was laid to rest following requiem Mass yesterday in St Mary’s Church in Aughavale cemetery.
Solicitor Evan O’Dwyer led the tributes to the late Mr Durcan on the day, praising him as a solicitor and colleague, and for his work as a past president of the Mayo Bar Association. Judge Patrick Clyne also expressed his condolences on the death of Mr Durcan, who was a brother of his colleague on the bench Judge Patrick Durcan.
