The Mayor of Castlebar, Cllr Noreen Heston, has secured agreement from Mayo County Council to make its training centre available to students who are studying for their mock exams.
The facility will be available to students from February 9 until the end of the mocks and again in the weeks leading up to the Junior and Leaving Certificate exams.
“It will help students to study in a warm and spacious area,” said the Mayor. “The time immediately before exams can be a stressful time for young people and we should do everything we can to help them,” added Cllr Heston.
