Stormy weather and high tides have uncovered the 20-metre fin whale, buried by Mayo County Council, on an Achill beach last week.
The whale died on Keel beach on Christmas evening. It was buried in sand dunes there a few days later in a three-hour operation using excavators.
The recent downpours, strong winds, and high tides left the whale exposed again and it had to be reburied.
