Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government Phil Hogan this week informed Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring of an allocation of €240,000 in extra LEADER funding for South West Mayo Development Company together with an allocation of €57,000 for the Gaeltacht areas.
Minister Ring stated: “I have been in constant contact with Minister Hogan to seek extra funding for the South West Mayo Development Company and I am very pleased with today’s announcement by Minister Hogan. The South West Mayo Development Company provides funding to numerous groups and individuals which in turn provide employment in the area. Today’s announcement will allow the South West Mayo Development Company to provide funding to projects which have received approval subject to funding being provided. Today’s allocation of funding clearly shows the Government’s commitment in creating jobs.”
