The number of planning permissions granted in Mayo increased by 13.5 per cent in the third quarter of 2013 compared to the same period in 2012.
This is against a decrease nationally of 4.3 per cent.
Planning for dwellings in Mayo is down however, standing at 43 in quarter three this year compared to 50 in 2012.
The total number of planning permissions granted in quarter three, including houses, apartment, commercial, and agricultural new builds, extensions and alterations, was 117, compared to 103 in 2012.
