A 22-year-old man has been charged with the murder of mother-of-two Sara Staunton.
Ray Gralton, with an address at Mount Prospect, Roscommon, came before a special sitting of Ballina District Court this afternoon (Monday ).
Gralton said nothing during the brief sitting before Judge Mary Devins.
Detective Sergeant Gary Walsh gave evidence that he arrested Gralton today in Castlebar Garda Station and charged him with murder.
Gralton made no reply when charged.
He has been remanded in custody until a sitting of Harristown Court on Friday, December 20.
The body of 28-year-old Sara Staunton was found at her home between Balla and Mayo Abbey on Saturday afternoon.
