Local groups receive funding under Go for Life Small Grant Scheme

Minister of State for Sport and Tourism Michael Ring has today announced The Go for Life Small Grant Scheme recipients. The scheme encourages older people to be more active. Some 1,000 groups and clubs around Ireland will get grants under the scheme to get Ireland's older population moving.

Speaking at the ceremony Minister Ring said: “The Irish Sports Council, which is funded by my Department, has received €43.5 million in funding this year. This year a record number of 1,009 groups will share almost €300,000 in funding for activities of their own choosing. I am delighted to announce that Mayo will benefit with over €13,000 in funding across 46 successful applications.”
