St Patrick’s Drama group bring Same Old Moon to the stage

St Patrick’s Drama Group are busy rehearsing Geraldine Aron's popular and heart-warming play Same Old Moon which will have a five night run from Tuesday November 26 to Saturday November 30 at Scoil Phadraig, Altamount Street.

The play with a cast of 15, spans 40 years from the 1940s to the 1980s and we see life through the eyes of Brenda Barnes, born in Dublin during the war years, sent to live with her very religious grandmother in Galway when she was nine years old. She joins her family in London when she is 13 where there are good and bad times, love and marriage, moving to Rhodesia and Australia and returning to her family in London, having become a writer. This is a fast moving play with many comic scenes and loved by audiences. Written in 1984, its premiere was at Druid Theatre Galway. The show is directed by Mary Carr and produced by Marie Crowley.
