James Walsh from Westport has won €10,000 in the Lyons Extraordinary Charity Giveaway to present to his chosen charity, Cancer Care West.
James is the 13th winner of the charity initiative, whereby Lyons Tea is giving away €10,000 to the winners’ favourite Irish charities every month.
Cancer Care West is a not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting those whose lives have been affected by cancer. Based in University Hospital Galway, it was established in 1993, and serves cancer patients and their families from all over the west of Ireland. The charity is dedicated to serving the needs of cancer patients and those close to them, and to easing some of the stresses that may arise from a diagnosis of cancer. Cancer Care West also provides cancer awareness and educational programmes, and undertakes research on patient care.
The Lyons Extraordinary Charity Giveaway is making it possible for people to give something back, something which is becoming increasingly difficult in the current economic climate. People can simply collect one token from any box of Lyons Tea and/or can enter online or post in their entry with the name of their favourite charity.
