The newly opened Connaught Bar, Spencer Street, Castlebar, will have its official launch tomorrow night (November 9 ) from 9.30pm where there will be live music, free nibbles, and prize draw.
The bar and restaurant offers B&B and serves delicious food all day. It offers traditional Irish food with a contemporary twist. All of the produce is fresh and locally sourced where possible, offering light bites through to a full four course dinner to suit all tastes and pockets.
Breakfast is served from 8am Monday to Friday, and on weekends from 9am. Full Irish with tea/coffee and toast is €7.95.
Lunch is served from 12 noon to 3pm and is reasonably priced. Dinner is from 5pm to 9pm daily, except Sundays, which is 12 noon to 4pm where you can choose from the normal menu and traditional roasts. The dinner menu is constantly being updated and will change with the seasons.
The chef Kevin Stirzaker worked in restaurants in Westport and recently completed a stint with Heston Blumenthal in London.
The pub has live music at weekends—bands on Saturday nights from 9.30pm and Irish music on Sundays from 5pm.
